PLUSH LASER SERVICES
PRE + POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS
LASER HAIR REMOVAL
PRE-TREATMENT –
- once you begin LHR - no waxing, tweezing or using hair removal creams at any time during the course of treatment
- please shave the area to be treated within 24-48 hours prior to treatment or as directed by your Registered Nurse - we can do a little touch up but shaving large areas is best done in the comfort of your home!
- best to come with a fresh face (makeup free) when treating facial areas - ALL skin products MUST be removed thoroughly prior to laser treatment
- we recommend avoiding retinols/retinoids or any prescription facial creams at least 3 days prior to treatment. Depending on the product we may be able to treat if it has been 24 hours since last application - depending on the prescription, it is best to call and check ahead of time to be sure!
- avoid sun exposure / properly protect those precious areas you are getting treated - wear proper SPF protection (SPF 50+ with zinc/titanium oxide) and cover those areas between sessions when you are exposed to the sun
- self-tanning products may be used but must be avoided two weeks prior to treatment - as long as the self tan is gone, you are good to go!
POST-TREATMENT –
- avoid extreme heat (e.g hot tubs, saunas) for 24 hours after your treatment as well as excessive exercise as this can irritate your skin
- keep the treatment area clean for the next 24 hours (especially the face - avoid touching, applying products + makeup application)
- redness/swelling around the hair follicles is a normal response to treatment and should resolve within 24 hours - if any skin irritation remains after 24 hours, please contact and we will provide further instructions
- treatable hairs will gradually shed between 7 to 21 days after the treatment, which will mimic growing hair - these hairs can be shaved, just refrain from plucking or tweezing (gentle exfoliation during this timeframe is helpful!)
- avoid sun exposure to the treatment area + use proper SPF protection (SPF 50+ with zinc/titanium oxide)
